In 2006, I had the honour of being invited to the Agriculture Conference of the International Fertilizer Association (IFA) in Kunming (China) to talk about the soil conditioner TerraCottem, developed by my team at the University of Ghent (Belgium) - see <www.terracottem.com>.
My presentation on “Integrated soil conditioning” contained slides about :
(1) The need for integration of knowledge and expertise by constituting multidisciplinary teams or networks of experts for mutual consultation and/or cooperation in related fields of science.
(2) The TerraCottem-method (TC).
(3) TC-applications:
* Afforestation
* Reforestation
* Landscaping
* Agro-forestry
* Floriculture
* Sand stabilization
* Roof gardens
* Combat of soil salinity
* Agriculture and horticulture
* Humanitarian projects : reforestation, creation of family gardens and school gardens, greenhouses, …
After years of humanitarian work with our TC-DIALOGUE Foundation I came to the following conclusion :
“For the benefit of the developing world and the poor rural people : let us exchange, transfer and integrate our knowledge and experience. The improvement of their life is more important than our personal success”.
