Farmers on northern Greece’s Thessaloniki Plain added water-conservation drives of their own to regional water restrictions over the past five months and saved 100 million cubic meters of water, a feat praised by Nikos Tsotsolis, head of the Water Department of Central Makedonia. The amount saved by irrigators in Thessaloniki, Pella, and Imathia prefectures was enough to supply a city the size of Athens for three months. Further information on EMWIS website:
