This project, which has a duration of 5 years, has already been provided $201,403 in international funds from the nation of Canada alone. The Environmental Protection Agency in Ghana was one of the various organizations from which committee members were selected.

The initial goal of the GEMP and its National Action Program is to ensure that the EPA is able to perform its duties with all means that are necessary. Once financing and clearance have both been granted, the project will then shift gears towards combating desertification and land degradation.
