Nigeria: Usmanu Danfodiyo University to Hold Summit On Climate Change

Sokoto — Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto will hold an international conference on climate change and desertification between December 6 and 9. This was contained in a statement signed by Prof. Saka Yusuf, a consultant to the University. The theme of the summit is “Climate change and desertification: Threat to Food Security in Nigeria and exhibition on clean energy.”

According to the statement, the summit is aimed at identifying the areas of human endeavors most at risk in the face of climate change, desertification and food security in Nigeria.

The summit is to develop agricultural tactics of adaptation and mitigation strategies in the face of climate change and desertification calamity as an integral part of agricultural development, food security policy and donor investment strategies.
