Launching Ceremony of CSOs Network for Combating Desertification
CSOs (Civil Society Organizations) Network For Combating Desertification initiated active involvement in the UNCCD COP10 upon its launch to encourage public participation and to raise awareness of desertification. Launching ceremony was held on the 15th of April at CECO in Changwon City with participants of members of the network and persons concerned.
As one of campaigns for combating desertification, 2,000 cypress trees was distributed to residents in Gyeongnam Province, enhancing the understanding of combating desertification and land degradation. In his welcoming speech, Du-Kwan Kim, the governor of Gyeongnam Province, expressed his appreciation for the voluntary participation of CSOs and highlighted the role of CSOs in making the UNCCD COP10 successful.
