Abstract: Lentil (Lens culinaris Medik subsp.culinaris) is one of the major rabi pulse crops grown in India for eons. Its significant contribution to food, feed and sustainable farming systems through soil health improvement and its adaptability to a wide range of soil types makes it dear to the poor farmers. It is generally grown as a rainfed crop.
