The main land degradation types and possibility of appearing desertification in Tay Nguyen

This paper presents the main result of the project named “Integrated study on land degradation and desertification in the Central Highlands of Vietnam and the measurement proposal for sustainable land use”, Code TN3/T01, which belongs to the National Programme of Scientific and Technological for Socio – Economic Development (Tay Nguyen 3 Programme) and have been implementing since 2011. The study results show that, the Central Highlands provinces affected by the land degradation processes, including erosion and surface runoff; feralite – laterite; transformation and migration of substances; gley and waterlogging; exhaustion; inorganic – organic complex formation.
