Read at : Google Alert – desertification

After setting my mind to use only recycled containers to grow my plants in, I was delighted to find this blog, Container Gardening, by Dr. Willem Van Cotthem. There are alot of useful links about container gardening that I could refer to and I’m going to try making a self-watering container with a plastic bottle after reading his blog.
Container Gardening is later merged with his other blog, Desertification, about desertification and poverty, agriculture and horticulture in the drylands.
In Container Gardening, I’ve also chanced upon JRP Recycling Plastic blog about recycling plastic containers for growing food to fight poverty.

Sincere thanks to Teresa, who introduces herself and her blog as : “Limited apartment space is not a deterrent to my garden dreams. I’m no green-thumb but always have alot of hope and optimism. I’m located in Singapore, a tropical Asian country. Comments, especially gardening tips, are greatly welcomed. Thanks for dropping by! Teresa“.
I put her blog on my blogroll !
Wow! I just want to say that the work that you are going is great. I sat through the whole of Container Gardening when I found it and have gotten alot of information and learnt alot from it. Thanks for sharing and my best regards for the work that you are doing in Desertification. Will drop by often to read on your progress and updates. Thanks for everything that you are dong and grow forth!
Willem and whomever, Teresa mentions trying to add a self-watering element to the design.
In Your Humble Opinion, with the use of polymers, how much more benefit might self-watering technology make?
