Without them we would really be up a Tree . . .

Our work is not because we think we can change the world; it is because we serve. When five, ten, or 15 people can work and lock their minds as one, they can literally create miracles. Those miracles include teaching the poor how to improve their diets by planting food-bearing trees native to their homelands.

Trees for Life is a group of people who realize that life on earth is interrelated, precious, and worth preserving. Our ultimate mission is to create a critical mass of individuals and groups who accept responsibility for their actions that impact life on our planet.

The mission starts with the recognition that our problems are caused by people, and it is people who must take the responsibility for solving them. That’s why Trees for Life is not just about trees or fruit or hunger or the environment. It is about responsibility. The planting of fruit trees is only the rallying point. It is an act which demonstrates one’s responsibility. Thus our focus is on people–empowering people who, in turn, empower others with the message of  this responsibility.
